My Journey to Georgetown – Catlyn Sailor

Conway, AR was on my radar for about 3 years and I finally got the chance to move here from Jonesboro in May of 2016. Before moving, Ben Brandon (my fiancé) and I really wrestled with God about moving to Georgetown, TX. I really thought it would be an awesome opportunity for us to share God’s Truth with a fast growing town where 60% of the polled population doesn’t proclaim any sort of religion. In the same sense, it was still a major pull away from family, security, and any plans we had already made.

We were both terrified and excited at the same time. It was a weird feeling for sure but as time continued so did the pull from God. The topic of Georgetown literally came up in every conversation, our minds, and prayers more than anything else for almost 4 months straight. Then, we finally came down to earth and realized what God wants is not always what we think is best for ourselves.

Yes, we would have been safe and happy in Conway, but who would reach the people in Georgetown? We would miss our families and be sad because the distance is so long, but what is more important? Our wants or God’s will? We finally made a decision that lifted the weight off our shoulders and humbled us to see the world even more through God’s perspective. In fact, He will always provide a way when we walk faithfully with Him.

Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

That is my personal prayer for the Georgetown launch team. To give ourselves fully, to serve the Lord no matter what, and be more like Jesus so we can reach many others for Him.

“The voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”
The voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth”
