Welcome to week 38 of Weekly Word! We are so glad you are here as we study through the books of Colossians and Romans.

How do we move from being separated from God to standing before Him declared righteous? Surely, we cannot accomplish this on our own.
So, Paul pulls back the curtain in Romans 3 and 4 to show us that justification—being made right with God—is never earned through our striving or rule-keeping. It is a gift received by faith alone, rooted in the finished work of Jesus!
In Colossians 1, Paul paints a breathtaking picture of Christ as the supreme Creator and Sustainer of all things who willingly shed His blood on the cross to reconcile us. We do not have to exhaust ourselves trying to earn a place at God’s table. Christ has secured it for us completely, declaring us forgiven, loved, and fully accepted in Him. What a reason to praise!

- Do you ever feel like you need to earn God’s love after you mess up? What does Romans 3:21–26 say about where your right standing with God comes from?
- How does remembering Christ’s supreme power over all creation give you peace about the circumstances currently out of your control in your life?
