This Week's Main Focus:

Who is Your One More?

By Stephen Castleberry

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10 CSB)

Recently, I lost a computer charger somewhere in our house. Unfortunately, it was one of those chargers that is just expensive enough that you do not want to casually replace it. So I searched everywhere. I checked desks, backpacks, nightstand drawers, and even places that made absolutely no sense—like the toy box. After a while, I recruited reinforcements and offered my kids a $20 reward if they could find it before I did. They searched hard… but they came up empty too.

There is something about losing something valuable that changes the way you look for it. You search carefully. Intentionally. Passionately. Because when something matters to you, you pursue it.

In the Gospel of Luke chapter 15, Jesus tells three famous parables: a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a lost son. At first glance, they may seem like simple stories about lost things being found. But underneath them is a much bigger truth: God has lost something. Us.

Every one of those stories reveals the heart of God. The shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to pursue the one sheep. The woman carefully searches the house for the missing coin. The father watches the horizon, longing for his son to come home. Jesus’ point is clear: God passionately seeks people who are far from Him.

And right now, God has placed thousands of people right here around us.

Georgetown is now home to more than 115,000 people. Yes, that means more traffic, longer lines at H-E-B, and growing pains all around. But it also means something else: God has brought more people into our community who need the hope of the Gospel.

That is not an accident.

As a church, our mission is simple: to lead people to follow Christ in a life-changing way. And as long as there is one more person in Georgetown or Williamson County who does not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, then our mission is not finished.

So who is your one more?

Maybe it is the guy you work beside every day. Maybe it is the mom sitting next to you at baseball practice. Maybe it is the cashier you see every week at the gas station or grocery store. Maybe it is a neighbor, a classmate, a family member, or a friend who seems fine on the outside but is quietly searching for hope.

God has placed us here as His ambassadors.

We are called to love people well, to share the Gospel boldly, and to urge people to be reconciled to God. We are not simply called to attend church services. We are called to join Jesus in His mission of seeking and saving the lost.

Church, let’s keep our eyes open. Let’s pray for opportunities. Let’s invite people in. Let’s speak about Jesus naturally and faithfully. And let’s never lose sight of the fact that Heaven still rejoices every time one lost person comes home.

There is still one more.

P.S. I finally found the charger. How wonderful it is when lost things are found!
