Series Overview
Jesus’s words are ALWAYS true, and we can trust Him for who He says He is.
In the book of John, Jesus makes seven powerful I AM statements. Each statement testifies to a powerful way that Jesus provides and cares for us.
As we explore each one leading into the Easter season, we pray that we each see more fully the gift we receive in Jesus’ death on the cross!
Lesson Overview
Jesus is the light of the world! Jesus said that anyone who follows him will never walk in darkness! What an amazing encouragement!
Just like flashlights, lamps, and candles give us light in darkness, Jesus himself says He is the light in the darkness of the world.
The truth of Jesus will shine light ANYwhere! And the light of Jesus will show us where we should place our next step!
SIT
Find candles, flashlights, or reading lights. Once everyone is settled, sit in darkness for a moment and then turn on one small light.
DISCUSS
How was sitting in the dark? What happened when a small light appeared? Do we need to see everything to obey?
READ
John 8:12-20
Matthew 5:14
What did you hear? How can we be lights pointing to Jesus?
PLAY
Play flashlight tag, make shadow puppets, play hide-n-seek in the dark, or go on a flashlight walk!
