Academy 4 (June 2026 Update)

At Antioch, we love to partner with great organizations that are already making a big impact—and our ongoing relationship with Cooper Elementary School through Academy 4 continues to be a powerful example of how small, faithful presence can make a big difference.

As we look back on this past school year, we want to share an exciting update from Academy 4!

Executive Director John Shearer recently reminded us that 4th grade is a pivotal age where the things children are told about themselves stick with them into adulthood. Through your faithfulness, our volunteers have spent the year telling these students that they are loved, valued, and full of potential.

Cooper Elementary Highlights

Our partnership at Cooper Elementary brought incredible joy to the school community this year:

  • Joyful Learning: Students loved receiving a special visit from a golden retriever named Henry in Animal Science Club, and Crochet Club members were so enthusiastic they even practiced their new skills during recess!
  • Serving Together: Mentors and students teamed up to pack care packages and write notes for local seniors at Park Place Care Center.
  • Deep Gratitude: The 4th graders surprised their mentors with a beautiful, handmade thank-you poster to celebrate their time together.

Looking Ahead: More Mentors Needed!

While this closes out one more successful school year, a brand-new school year is already fast approaching! We are thrilled to be partnering with Cooper Elementary for another year. As the new school semester nears, we will have more opportunities for new mentors to come alongside a 4th grader and make a positive, lasting impact! Please begin praying about how you might get involved this fall to make a difference in a child’s life.

Ways to Pray for Academy 4:

  • Pray for continually deepened and strengthened relationships between Antioch Georgetown and the families, students, and staff at Cooper.
  • Lift up the dedicated 4th-grade teachers, asking for refreshment and encouragement after all their hard work this past year.

Thank you for being a church family that loves our community so well!
