At Antioch, we love partnering with organizations that are making a real, lasting impact—and our relationship with Cooper Elementary through Academy 4 is one of the sweetest ways we get to love our neighborhood together.
As we look ahead to this coming school year, we are so excited to step into another year of serving alongside Academy 4!
Executive Director John Shearer recently shared that Academy 4 is preparing to welcome over 6,500 volunteers into 60 schools, serving more than 14,000 fourth graders. But as John reminded us, this has never been about just filling volunteer slots on a clipboard. It’s about building a community of people who show up, build relationships, and let these kids know they are deeply loved and valued. As Academy 4 enters its 15th year, we are so grateful for the way our church family consistently opens its heart to these students.
Cooper Elementary Updates
We are getting everything ready for our fourth graders at Cooper, and we’d love for you to be a part of it! Here is where our team stands right now:
- Total Mentors Needed: 105
- Returning Mentors: 81 (We are so thankful for your continued heart for these kids!)
- New Mentors Registered: 4
- Mentors Still Needed: 20
