Calling all Parents,
We have a blog for you!
First, we care about you, and we are praying for you and your family in this unique season of life.
Now, I know you might be using your only five free minutes of the day to read this blog, so I’ll make it quick.
When our church is able to have kids ministry again, we want you to come back without having pulled all of your hair out. So, here are some FREE ideas for entertaining your kids and engaging them spiritually.
If you’re not a parent, please forward these ideas to a parent you know. I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.
- Antioch Kids Youtube playlist: We have eight weeks of Bible lessons available for you and your kiddos to watch and re-watch. Each week has a preschool-level lesson hosted by Miss Caroline and an elementary level-lesson hosted by Mr. Corey. These fun-fill videos run for about eight to 10 minutes and are quite entertaining if I may say so myself.
- The Bible App for Kids: You Version made a specific app to engage kids with Bible stories. The app has 41 Bible stories with fun interactives and games throughout the stories that help children comprehend the stories they are listening to better.
- Focus on the Family Resources: The Focus on the Family website has many resources for parents. One article with many ideas is Fun Family Faith Activities. Another hour-long family-fun activity is the Adventures in Odyssey Club. You can start a free trial that includes the streaming of 740 Adventures in Odyssey episodes, monthly Web Quests, daily devotions based on Adventures in Odyssey episodes, and animated Odyssey videos, Last Chance Detectives, and more.
- A book for Parents: While your children are entertained, maybe check out the book It‘s Just a Phase—So Don’t Miss It. This book develops the understanding of the phases of growing up and reminds readers that each phase is worth celebrating and utilizing as unique opportunities to shape a growing future. “This book presents a challenge to churches to treat every kid who breathes like they are made in the image of God.”
We’re praying for you as you navigate this new normal. Please let us know what you need.
And if you know about other resources for kids, send them our way, and we’ll share them with other parents in our church.
