Now that we are in our new sermon series, One More, our Weekly Word readings, devotionals, and reflection questions will help us reflect and prepare our hearts for how God is calling and equipping each of us to reach the “one more!”

In the Parable of the Weeds Among the Wheat, Jesus clarifies a fundamental truth about our present age: God allows believers (“the wheat”) and the world (“the weeds”) to grow side by side until the final harvest. Rather than pulling us out of a broken world, Jesus deliberately plants His people right in the middle of it. He also gives a clear picture of what will happen at the end of the age: “the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.”
In Luke 10, Jesus reinforces this reality by sending His disciples out into every town, declaring, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” You are not living in your specific neighborhood, working at your current job, or sitting in your local coffee shop by accident. God’s mission for reaching the world isn’t some distant program—it is you.
God has intentionally planted you where you are so that His light, truth, and gospel message can shine clearly in the midst of a dark and confused world!

- Knowing that God has intentionally planted you, how does this shift the way you view your daily workplace, school, or neighborhood?
- In Luke 10:2, Jesus calls us to pray for laborers while simultaneously sending us out to be those very laborers. How can you step out in faith this week to embrace the truth that God’s mission for reaching your circle of influence is you?
