Connect the Dots | AUGUST WK 4

The Bible is God’s Word. Every person mentioned in its pages is there on purpose, for a purpose. And sometimes people have the same name and we mix them up, or we aren’t sure what a person did, or we have never even heard his or her name! In this series, we’re going to dig into God’s Word to look at commonly mixed up or overlooked people to learn “Who’s Who in the Bible!”

Sprinkled throughout 1 Samuel 14-20 are details on Jonathan’s life! While Saul ultimately chose selfishness and pride to guide his decisions, his son Jonathan shows us wisdom and humility. Jonathan was also David’s best friend and was instrumental in saving David’s life more than once! Not a Biblical figure we often hear about but one that gives us a beautiful picture of deep love, loyal friendship, and reliance on the Lord.

Who can find a verse/passage about Jonathan in 1 Samuel first?!

What does a foolish decision look like? What about a wise one?

What does a prideful decision look like? What about a humble one?
