Series Overview
The Bible is God’s Word. Every person mentioned in its pages is there on purpose, for a purpose. And sometimes people have the same name and we mix them up, or we aren’t sure what a person did, or we have never even heard his or her name! In this series, we’re going to dig into God’s Word to look at commonly mixed up or overlooked people to learn “Who’s Who in the Bible!”
Lesson Overview
Does your nativity set include Simeon and Anna? Mine does not, but my Bible does! The angels and shepherds did not talk to Simeon or Anna. Mary and Joseph didn’t tell them that their baby was God’s son. But, in the Temple, Simeon and Anna each recognized Jesus because they knew what God had promised.
The stories of Simeon and Anna are short… but powerful! God spoke to them and allowed them to meet Jesus as a baby—God let them see firsthand that He kept His promise to send a Savior—to each of them and the world!
