Series Overview
We can understand the gospel message, even have accepted Jesus as our Savior, and still be confused over certain words. In this series, we’ll dig into some common ones to help define some hard-to-understand words. When we understand confusing or unfamiliar words, we can better grasp God’s Word and grow deeper in our faith.
Lesson Overview
Grace and mercy are both gifts we receive from God! Often, the words get used interchangeably, but they are each unique and glorious gifts from our generous God!
Grace is when God gives us what we do not deserve—our daily blessings are God’s grace. Mercy is when God withholds a punishment we do deserve.
The cross is a beautiful picture of both of these words together: We do not deserve a Savior but through His grace, God sent one. And in His mercy, Jesus took the punishment we deserve because of our sin.
