Connect the Dots | July | Week 2

Jesus’ own words tell us why He taught in parables: “Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.” (Matthew 13:11)

The “them” in this verse are those with hard hearts who rejected Jesus; those who wanted to see more signs and miracles but refused Jesus’ message. To you who have eyes to see, the parables are beautiful stories that teach powerful lessons about Jesus being the ONE way to God’s Kingdom!

The idea of rejoicing over lost things being found brings me so much joy! And not just because lost items (from my favorite pencil to game pieces) kind of gives me hives. But because the Creator of the universe won’t settle for lost people remaining lost!

The parables of the lost sheep and lost coin remind us how diligently we are willing to search for what matters to us. I have such good news for every single one of us, friends! We matter so very much to God and He truly rejoices when someone chooses to trust Jesus as their Savior!

Place about 10 random items on a tray or table. After studying it for 60 seconds, look away & have someone remove 2 items. Can you tell what was taken?
