Series Overview
Jesus’ own words tell us why He taught in parables: “Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.” (Matthew 13:11)
The “them” in this verse are those with hard hearts who rejected Jesus; those who wanted to see more signs and miracles but refused Jesus’ message. To you who have eyes to see, the parables are beautiful stories that teach powerful lessons about Jesus being the ONE way to God’s Kingdom!
Lesson Overview
Not everyone followed Jesus. Some were His disciples, yes. But others were angry at what Jesus taught. They didn’t believe He was God’s son.
The Bible says they had hard hearts. And some had rejected Jesus! These same people kept asking to see more proof (signs and miracles) of who Jesus was, but nothing they saw helped them accept Jesus’ message—that He was God’s son! They just would not believe!

Jesus taught in parables to share truth about about God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom is available to everyone who believes in Jesus as their Savior. There’s no other way to get into God’s Kingdom except through Jesus.
