Series Overview
We are kicking off our new year diving into the FRUIT of the SPIRIT: The amazing gift from God to show people what His love looks like. Our goal with this series is to help our kids observe and recognize when they see the fruit being displayed in their daily lives. This week we learned more about Gentleness!
Lesson Overview
In Matthew 11:29, Jesus describes himself as gentle and lowly. In this same sentence, he declares that his yoke is easy and light and will bring rest for our souls! Jesus perfectly embodies each quality of the fruit of the spirit. Consider the power of His words here! Jesus was present as Creation was spoken into existence and now bids us to learn from him to be gentle and lowly!
BREAK
Give each person a dry piece of spaghetti and ask them to break it as many times as they can!
PRESERVE
With a second piece of dry pasta, try to be strong enough NOT to break it while stringing buttons onto it.
DISCUSS
Why does it take more effort NOT to break the pasta? This is gentleness on display!
DANCE
Turn on your favorite worship songs and have a family dance party!
